PUBLIC TEST OF VOTER EQUIPMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with Chapter 52.35 of the Iowa Code that the duly authorized agents of the Buena Vista County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections shall publicly examine and test all voting machines to be used for the November 7, 2023 Combined City/School Election. Public testing will commence on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 9:00 o’clock a.m. at the Auditor’s Election Storeroom, in the lower level of the Courthouse, Storm Lake, IA. This certification, testing the voting machines for said election, is open to the public.

Pre-registered voters are required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot. Voters who are not pre-registered – such as voters registering to vote on election day – and voters changing precincts must also provide proof of residence. A voter who is unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required) 1) may have the voter’s identity/residence attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, 2) prove identity and residence using Election Day Registration documents, or 3) cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by 12 noon on Monday, November 13, 2023. Election Day Registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification. Schaller-Crestland Community School District Public Measure SS
Shall the Board of Directors of the Schaller-Crestland Community School District in the Counties of Buena Vista, Ida and Sac, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $15,750,000 to provide funds to construct, build, furnish, and equip an addition to the elementary building; to renovate, remodel, repair, improve, furnish and equip portions of the existing elementary building; and to improve the elementary site, including parking, playground, and landscaping?
Schaller-Crestland Community School District Public Measure ST
Shall the Board of Directors of the Schaller-Crestland Community School District in the Counties of Buena Vista, Ida and Sac, State of Iowa, be authorized to levy annually a tax exceeding Two Dollars and Seventy Cents ($2.70) per Thousand Dollars ($1,000), but not exceeding Four Dollars and Five Cents ($4.05) per Thousand Dollars ($1,000) of the assessed value of the taxable property within said school corporation to pay the principal of and interest on bonded indebtedness of said school corporation, it being understood that the approval of this public measure shall not limit the source of payment of the bonds and interest, but shall only operate to restrict the amount of bonds which may be issued?
Sioux Central Community School District Public Measure CI
Shall the Board of Directors of the Sioux Central Community School District, in the Counties of Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay and O'Brien, State of Iowa, for the purpose of purchasing and improving grounds; constructing schoolhouses or buildings and opening roads to schoolhouses or buildings; purchasing of buildings; purchase, lease or lease-purchase of technology and equipment; paying debts contracted for the erection or construction of schoolhouses or buildings, not including interest on bonds; procuring or acquisition of libraries; repairing, remodeling, reconstructing, improving, or expanding the schoolhouses or buildings and additions to existing schoolhouses; expenditures for energy conservation; renting facilities under Iowa Code Chapter 28E; purchasing transportation equipment for transporting students; lease purchase option agreements for school buildings or equipment; purchasing equipment authorized by law; or for any purpose or purposes now or hereafter authorized by law, be authorized for a period of ten (10) years, to levy annually, a voter-approved physical plant and equipment property tax not to exceed One Dollar Thirty-Four Cents ($1.34) per One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) of the assessed valuation of the taxable property within the school district commencing with the levy for collection in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, or each year thereafter?
